Dental Fillings
A dental filling is a direct restoration used to repair a decayed or damaged tooth.
The most common materials used in fillings are dental amalgam (a mixture of silver, mercury, copper, tin and other trace metals) and composite resin (tooth-coloured synthetic material).
At Moycullen Dental Practice, we only use composite resin matched to the shade of your natural teeth.
It is possible to replace an old amalgam filling (silver) by tooth-coloured material (composite) which matches to the shade of your natural tooth.
If a tooth is quite grey and discoloured because of an old amalgam filling we can replace it for aesthetic reason.
